Intentional Self-Care

We are all worthy of self-care.

Self-care is needed the most when we are at our lowest. Don’t wait until you feel deserving to do something nice for yourself.

Self-care can be something as small as lighting a scented candle. What makes it self-care is the intention behind the action.

Intentional self-care is imbuing a simple action with a positive message of worthiness, adoration, and love.

Sometimes the things we do for self-care provoke feelings of guilt in us.

Recently I was feeling very stressed out, overwhelmed and anxious because I was behind in my work for Boundless. I had an overflowing to do list and I felt responsible to get everything done. I was sitting in my office not even knowing where to start.

So, naturally, I started redecorating my work space. I pulled out the contents of every crevice to consolidate and organize all my drawers and baskets of storage and made new labels to go on the face of each. I moved my desk, swapped a table, got rid of trinkets that no longer bring me any joy and re-merched the remaining decor.

Yes, this took hours, but once I was done, I felt whole again. It is so important for me to have a beautiful, cozy, welcoming place to work. So much of my inspiration comes from my surroundings.

In the past, I would have plagued myself with guilt for “avoiding” what needed to be done to do something “non-essential” .

However, now, I see the value in taking time for me, especially when there is so much on my plate.

Intentional Tea Spell:

Include little mantra’s when preforming intentional self-care. If I am making a cup of tea, for example, I will fill the kettle with water while saying…

“Let this water cleanse my heart.”

I light the stove and say…

“May this fire burn away stagnant energy.”

I steep the tea and utter…

“These herbs are a gift for my body.”

I sip and repeat…

“I love myself with every sip, I am worthy of this time and space, I am boundless.”
